Videos

We recommend you start by watching the videos – it’s quite possible that these are all you need to get started particularly if you follow along in the training environment. You can learn at your own pace and push buttons, safe in the knowledge you won’t break anything in the real SHIP environment. The Find My Way Portal and the new SHIP-WA modules are interlinked, thus there are many ways you can get started on your learning journey. We recommend watching the Find My Way Public Portal video first then we’ll let you choose your own adventure – see the diagram below for some possible adventures

Find My Way – Public Facing Portal

The Find My Way Public Portal allows individuals to search for services or browse all services available to people that are experiencing or at risk of homelessness in Western Australia. Users who are identified as sleeping rough and not currently connected with a service are able to make a request for extra assistance that is sent to the Homelessness Services Connector.

A referral can include other information including a Common Engagement Tool, other linked client records, client files (like notes and alerts) and other uploaded documents.

They can update it at any time and this will automatically populate in the persons details page in SHIP. They can also withdraw their consent to share with a service at any time.

A FMW user who has created an account can connect with a service provider in SHIP. This links the persons details in SHIP to their details in Find My Way. To do this, the FMW user and service provider need to be in contact and share a connection code. Once connected, information is shared between the two platforms relating to:

Persons Details – one way from FMW to SHIP
My Story My Words – one way from FMW to SHIP
Referrals – one way from SHIP to FMW
